Assistant Engineering Technician-BESS

About the Role

COMPANY is seeking an Assistant Engineering Technician to support civil and site development work for industrial and commercial infrastructure projects, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). This role is fully onsite in Jacksonville and supports multidisciplinary engineering teams within the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) group.

What You’ll Do

• Support engineers with drafting, modeling, and technical document updates

• Create and modify site plans, grading designs, and utility layouts

• Use CAD/BIM tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation

• Perform basic engineering tasks: quantity takeoffs, dimensional checks, redline updates

• Follow established standards, document control practices, and quality procedures

• Coordinate with other disciplines to reduce design conflicts

• Contribute to continuous improvement and accuracy of deliverables

What You Need

• Green Card Required (no sponsorship available)

• Must be local to Jacksonville, FL and able to work onsite 5 days/week

• Diploma or Certificate required; Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Technology preferred

• 1+ year of related experience

• Ability to pass pre‑employment screenings (background, drug screen, MVR)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar design software

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Interest in civil site development (grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, fencing)
