Highlights:
Position Title: Head Cashier
Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico, 87102
Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch
Pay rate: $14.30
Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Greeting and welcoming guests to the BioPark.
- Selling tickets in person and online.
- Providing exceptional customer service in person, online and over the phone by answering questions, directing guests and sharing in-depth knowledge of BioPark operations and policies.
- Taking proactive steps to create fun, safe and educational experiences for all guests.
- Interacting with a large number of guests while maintaining a professional, calm demeanor and while sitting, standing or walking for long periods of time.
- Helpfully resolve guest issues to reach a win-win outcome.
- Working in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments in all types of weather
- Collaborating with the Guest Experience team and other BioPark departments to serve guests beyond the front gates, including education program assistance, trash collection, private event rentals and monitoring indoor exhibits.
- Supporting the New Mexico BioPark Society through membership sales and event assistance
- Handling cash and strictly adhering to all cash handling procedures
- Working on weekends, evenings and holidays.
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Must be 18 years or older and have basic computer proficiency.
- Must be physically able to lift or move up to 30 pounds (stanchions, light barriers). Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Have outgoing personalities and enjoy working with the public.
- Take pride in their ability to provide guests with personalized service and attention.
- Are proud to share their knowledge of the ABQ BioPark
- Care about guests' safety and their impressions of the BioPark and its animals, plants and staff
- Effectively communicate policies in a kind, yet firm, manner.
- Collaborate with colleagues to serve guests in all corners of the BioPark.
- Are friendly, organized and punctual.
- May have previous experience in customer/guest service.
- Require weekend, holiday and seasonal evening work.
