One Federal Solution (OFS) seeks a dependable and detail-oriented Assistant Facilities Manager to support our Department of State, Office of Emergency Management (OEM) customer. The selected candidate will assist with facility operations, logistics, warehouse management, custodial services, inventory control, and emergency preparedness activities in support of classified government facilities. This position plays a critical role in ensuring facilities remain secure, operational, and mission-ready while supporting continuity of operations and emergency response efforts.

Assistant Facilities Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Assist Facility Managers with maintenance supply and personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory management and disposal of excess equipment and records in accordance with Department disposition procedures.
  • Perform custodial duties, including cleaning and sanitizing offices, conference rooms, common areas, and restrooms in accordance with CDC health and safety guidelines.
  • Assist in coordinating and monitoring facility engineering, maintenance, and installation activities involving HVAC, electrical power, UPS/battery backup systems, plumbing, and security systems within classified facilities.
  • Escort contractors and maintenance personnel performing work within secure Government facilities.
  • Provide logistical support for conferences, meetings, forums, and working groups involving more than 60 interagency departments and agencies.
  • Perform warehouse and logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory management, supply replenishment, warehouse organization, and space management.
  • Assist with facility setup and operational support at alternate work locations during continuity and emergency operations.
  • Support deployment and execution of National Continuity Programs and emergency management operations.
  • Operate Government vehicles, when authorized, in support of continuity and logistics missions.
  • Provide facility and logistics support during real-world emergencies, National Special Security Events (NSSE), and other contingency operations requiring 24/7 support.

Assistant Facilities Manager Qualifications & Requirements

  • Active Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) access.
  • Working knowledge of continuity operations, facility support, logistics, warehouse operations, or administrative support.
  • Experience supporting inventory management, shipping and receiving, supply management, or warehouse operations.
  • Experience supporting facility maintenance or coordinating contractor access within secure facilities is preferred.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database management applications.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
  • Must be able to safely lift, carry, and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Ability to travel occasionally in support of remote Government locations.
  • Ability to provide 24/7 contingency support during emergency operations, when required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA Forklift Operator Certification (or the ability to obtain certification).
  • Experience supporting secure Federal facilities or emergency management operations.
  • Experience supporting continuity operations or logistics programs within a Federal agency.
  • Familiarity with Department of State facility operations or continuity programs.
