QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 10+ years of Ohio Government Accounting experience
  • 10+ years of financial management experience
  • CPA license, preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and experience in UAN software
  • Service-minded towards the Mayor, Council, Village employees, and residents
  • Team-oriented
  • Strong organizational & communication skills
  • Superior analytical skills and strong business and financial acumen
  • Good judgment and decision-making ability
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintain the Village’s general books of accounts.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all State UAN financial system operations and work, including preparation of monthly financial statements, year-end closing, year-end opening and creating and maintaining the Village’s purchase orders.
  • Prepares annual Village budget (Oct. through Dec.), in coordination with the Village’s functional leaders.  Also prepares the Tax budget (June).
  • Manage relations with depository banks
  • Responsible for oversight and staff direction of Audits, including communications with Cuyahoga County and Geauga County Auditors and Fiscal Offices.
  • Financial analyses, as may be required by Mayor, Village Council or Finance Director.
