Assistant Food Service Administrator

Marana Detention Center | Marana, AZ

$36.09 per hour | Full-time

Use your skills to manage the custody and security of detainees in the facility in compliance with Management & Training Corporation (MTC) and customer directives. You will directly supervise the cook II and directs the work of detainees assigned to the food service area.

What you will do

• Supervise and monitor work of cooks and food service workers, which includes long periods of walking and standing
• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean and sanitary always.
• Exercise judgement and use discretion when responding to incidents and determine whether to intervene or call security staff.
• Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and visitors.
• Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
• Direct the work of detainees assigned to the food service area.
• Maintain the count and control of knives and other controlled kitchen tools. Provide a count of all control items at the beginning and end of each shift. Responsible for the security of the food service area.
• Requires the pushing and pulling of food carts.
• Regular and predictable onsite attendance is required.
• Incumbents are required to work overtime when directed to do so.

What you will need

• High school diploma or GED
• Two years of food service experience
• Food service training
• Valid food handler's permit
• US citizenship or lawful US permanent resident
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Must successfully complete required preservice training post-hire
