POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides administrative and clerical office support as well as oversight of the Food Service Department during the Food Service Manager’s absence which is essential to the operation of the Food Service Department which includes assessing, planning, supervising and coordinating the daily food service program operations of Echo Cliffs. The incumbent works closely with the Food Service Manager, Lead Cook, Food Service Staff, Finance, and other departments to accomplish the goals and objectives of the facility as well as assisting with budget meetings and processes. The Assistant Food Service Manager will assist in implementing the safety and sanitation of the department with knowledge of food service practices and procedures. The Assistant Food Service Manager also serves as the department timekeeper.

Physical:
This position requires the incumbent to have high energy and can maintain a long and flexible schedule to meet the requirements of this position. Including long periods (½ the workday) standing; sitting in meetings; talking or hearing; use of both hands to for simple grasping, firm grasping and fine manipulation; reach with both hands and arms. Frequent standing and walking to reach locations in the facility; prolonged push/pull of up to 35 pounds and occasional push/pull of up to 100 pounds or more; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, bending, light carrying. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and up to over 100 pounds occasionally. Must have prolonged close, distant, color, peripheral vision along with depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must have the ability to hear alarms on equipment; client calls; instructions from physician/department staff; and overhead announcements.
Mental:
The incumbent performs a range of administrative, budget assistance and clerical support functions for the Food Service Department involving prolonged periods of high-level stress and handling multiple priorities. Budget assistance involves identifying the type of transaction; compiling, cash counting and verifying costs; computing and adjustment account balances; and preparing budget expense reports. Incumbent uses independent judgment and analytical skills to make decisions that impact operations, finances and customer service within the organization while demonstrating a high degree of patience. Incumbents will also on occasion cope with anger/fear/hostility of others and manage altercations in a calm manner.
Environmental:
Incumbent will have exposure to loud noises for a prolonged period. Will frequently be exposed to chemical agents and extremes in temperature or humidity. On occasion will be exposed to infectious diseases, dust, fumes, gases, unprotected heights and hazardous or moving equipment.
