About the Job

The University of Minnesota Morris seeks an Assistant Coach for Football.

The Assistant Coach is responsible for providing support to all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III football program that advances the mission of intercollegiate athletics and the University. The assistant coach assists the head coach in student recruiting and retention efforts; supports the building of a diverse and inclusive team; coaches student athletes and fosters their skill development; assists in coaching plans and implementation at practices and competitions; provides for students' safety, health and wellbeing; complies with NCAA, UMAC and university policies; provides sound fiscal management; assists in equipment oversight, scheduling, travel planning, and summer camps; and assists in athlete development.

This is a part-time 4-month in season coaching appointment that carries a $4,000 annual salary.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Experience with a competitive football program is preferred.
  • The position requires strong organization, oral and written communication skills, and the demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • The preferred candidate will demonstrate an appreciation for NCAA DIII, be self-directed and motivated, work with integrity, and bring skills and abilities to help advance the program.

About the Department

The University of Minnesota Morris Cougars compete in the NCAA Division III and Upper Midwest Athletic Conference with 20 total sports offered between men and women. Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $4000; depending on education/qualifications/experience.
