The Assistant General Manager (AGM) works alongside the General Manager to support all aspects of café operations while helping create a warm, authentic, and inspiring environment for both guests and team members. Assistant General Managers play an important role in leading daily operations, supporting team development, and ensuring exceptional hospitality and operational execution throughout the café.
Our Assistant General Managers work side by side with the Front of House team and in partnership with the Cafe Head Chef and Back of House team to uphold Tatte’s standards across hospitality, quality, service, and café performance. In the absence of the General Manager, the AGM assumes all GM responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
We expect our Assistant General Managers to:
- Lead with warmth, authenticity, and professionalism
- Deliver exceptional guest experiences while upholding Tatte’s hospitality standards
- Support the development and coaching of managers and hourly team members
- Lead teams through accountability, operational execution, and service excellence
- Maintain high standards for cleanliness, organization, food safety, and visual presentation

- Have flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
Summary of Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in ownership of the business and daily café operations
- Model authentic and engaging hospitality while creating a welcoming café environment
- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training of new team members
- Identify and help develop strong talent across all levels of the café
- Support performance management conversations and ongoing coaching and development
- Maintain and uphold all Tatte brand and visual standards
- Lead team members through effective and efficient operational execution
- Ensure food safety, sanitation, and operational compliance standards are consistently met
- Support café level communication and change management initiatives related to new products, service standards, and operational updates
- Contribute to food, labor, and controllable costs remaining within company expectations
- Support café administrative responsibilities and operational follow through
- Other related assignments as necessary
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / WORKING CONDITIONS
- Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs, including days, evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergencies as needed
- Ability to work 10+ hour shifts and stand, sit, squat, or walk for extended periods of time
- Ability to walk up and down stairs and read operational materials
- Ability to grasp, reach overhead, push, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 1 year of management experience, preferably in a high volume, full service, or polished fast casual restaurant environment
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced and constantly evolving environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- High integrity and professionalism
- High school diploma or equivalent required
Preferred Skills
- Hospitality degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, or Restaurant Management preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and OutlookPrevious experience with UltiPro, Toast POS, CrunchTime, and TeamworX preferred
- ServSafe, Allergen, and ChokeSaver certifications preferred
