A growing New Orleans hospitality group is seeking an experienced Assistant General Manager to join our leadership team in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant in downtown San Antonio.

The Assistant General Manager partners with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of restaurant operations. This position is responsible for leading daily service, developing employees, maintaining exceptional hospitality standards, supporting financial performance, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the restaurant.
The ideal candidate possesses exceptional leadership abilities, strong public relations skills, outstanding emotional intelligence, and a passion for hospitality.
Assist the General Manager in overseeing all daily restaurant operations.
Lead front-of-house and support back-of-house operations during high-volume service periods.
Ensure smooth dining room operations, reservations, seating, table rotations, and service pacing.
Execute opening, shift change, and closing procedures.
Maintain company standards for cleanliness, food quality, safety, sanitation, and guest service.
Recruit, onboard, train, coach, mentor, and develop team members.
Conduct performance coaching and provide ongoing employee feedback.
Build a culture of accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and hospitality.
Assist with scheduling and labor management while maintaining proper staffing levels.
Lead by example by actively supporting the team whenever needed.
Deliver exceptional hospitality by engaging with guests throughout service.
Conduct regular table visits to ensure guest satisfaction.
Professionally resolve guest concerns and recover service opportunities.
Build lasting relationships with guests and foster repeat business.
Monitor labor costs and operational productivity.
Manage cash handling procedures, deposits, shift reports, comps, voids, discounts, and POS functions.
Support inventory management and cost control initiatives.
Assist with special events and seasonal operational planning.
Maintain compliance with all company policies and applicable health and safety regulations.
Promote the restaurant within the local community through relationship-building and exceptional guest service.
Support marketing initiatives and encourage positive guest engagement, including online reviews and social media interaction where appropriate.
Help increase guest loyalty through consistent hospitality and brand representation.
Minimum 2 years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service restaurant.
Proven leadership experience managing front-of-house teams.
Strong employee coaching, training, and development skills.
Excellent public relations and guest recovery abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of restaurant POS systems, cash handling, scheduling, and labor management.
Basic understanding of restaurant financials, including labor and food cost controls.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and Texas health regulations.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and decision-making skills.
Ability to remain calm and effective in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
Experience with restaurant marketing and community outreach.
Experience supporting banquet, catering, or special event operations.
