Job Title: Assistant Golf Coach School: North Middlesex Regional High School Location: 19 Main St, Townsend, MA 01469
Job Description: North Middlesex Regional High School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Assistant Golf Coach to support the varsity golf program. This individual will work in collaboration with the Head Coach to help develop student-athletes' golf skills, understanding of the game, and overall character within an education-based athletics framework.
The Assistant Coach plays a vital role in building a positive team culture, providing individual instruction, and ensuring student-athletes are supported both on the course and in their personal growth.
Key Responsibilities: Support Practice & Match Preparation:
Assist with planning and conducting practices, drills, and training sessions.
Help prepare athletes for match play and course management.
Provide on-course guidance during matches and assist with lineup management.
Skill Development & Mentorship:
Offer individualized coaching to help players improve swing mechanics, short game, and course etiquette.
Serve as a positive mentor and role model for student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship and teamwork.
Team Culture & Conduct:
Help foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive environment where all athletes feel valued.
Reinforce positive behaviors aligned with school values and team expectations.
Communication & Collaboration:
Maintain open and respectful communication with athletes, parents, and the athletic department.
Work closely with the Head Coach to ensure program consistency and alignment.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all MIAA and NFHS regulations, safety procedures, and district policies.
Maintain required coaching certifications, including:
NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching
NFHS Concussion in Sports
First Aid & CPR Certification
MIAA Coaches Education Program
CORI/SORI Background Check
Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Experience in golf, either as a player or coach.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Enthusiasm for working with high school athletes.
Ability to collaborate effectively with coaching staff.
Must meet all MIAA and NFHS certification requirements.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous coaching experience at the high school level.
Experience working with student-athletes of varying skill levels.
Knowledge of golf course safety, etiquette, and rules.
Salary: Per NMRSD Teacher Contract.
