A growing greenhouse and controlled environment agriculture operation is seeking an experienced Assitant Head Grower to oversee crop production, plant health, irrigation, fertility, IPM, and daily growing operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day crop production and plant health
- Monitor irrigation, fertility, climate, lighting, and environmental controls
- Identify and respond to pest, disease, nutrition, and crop quality concerns
- Implement IPM programs and maintain crop protection records
- Supervise crop care, propagation, transplanting, spacing, and harvest activities
- Train and support greenhouse staff
- Work with leadership to improve yield, quality, labor efficiency, and production consistency
- Maintain clean, safe, and organized growing areas
Qualifications
- Greenhouse, nursery, horticulture, CEA, produce, or ornamental growing experience preferred
- Strong understanding of plant health, irrigation, fertility, and IPM
- Experience with greenhouse environmental systems is a plus
- Leadership or team supervision experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Degree in horticulture, plant science, agriculture, or related field is a plus
