AHS II - SENECA PLACE HOME Under the direction of the Home Supervisor (HS) the Assistant Home Supervisor (AHS) first responsibility is to perform direct care/ support duties as required in the care home.They will work in direct contact with individuals to teach daily living skills, assure client safety and maintain adequate protection of consumer rights, while implementing all policies, procedures, guidelines and/or legal commitment to consumers as required by the Mental Health Code, Special Certification Regulations, Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs guidelines Department of Consumer Industry Services, Northern Lakes Community Mental Health Authority and other regulatory bodies. Secondarily, the AHS provides support to the Home Supervisor by performing the following duties as time and resources allow. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Will perform the essential functions of the Residential Care Aid plus these additional functions
- May maintain professional contact with guardians and parents of consumers, as the need arises along with CSM’s, PCP’s, RNs, and other clinical staff as directed by the HS.
Medical - Coordinates and makes most medical appointments
- Takes lead role on most medical appointments
- Assures that changes in medical supports or Rx are communicated clearly to RCAs
- Checks Medications into the home Monthly
- Assures that medical and pharmacy resupplies are ordered in a timely manner
Operations - Shares On-Call duties with Home Supervisor
- Demonstrates leadership skill in Culture of Gentleness
- Assures Community Engagement/ Inclusion for all residents
- Primary food shopping
- Monitors food/ supply inventory
- Assures routine maintenance of vehicle/ lift are performed
- Assures that home Maintenance and Repair needs are noted, ordered and monitored
- Assures that all documentation is completed in a timely manner
Workforce - Supports staff scheduling
- Assists in assuring appropriate staffing at all times
- Assists in hiring, training and development of staff
- Able to document staff performance issues including Performance Reports when necessary
- Participates in staff Performance Evaluations and personnel actions as directed by Home Supervisor
- Models Culture of Gentleness in home management and workforce management
QUALIFICATIONS: - Highschool Diploma or Equivilant
- Experience working in the human services or related field

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - The use of household cleaning products and disinfectants is expected. Non-toxic chemicals are used whenever possible.
