    Relocation Assistance Available

    Position Summary: Associate General Counsel II provides legal assistance to the Chief Legal Officer and Hospital.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Assists in Health Care regulatory issues and health care contracts
    2. Assists the Chief Legal Officer with employment law matters (ADA, FMLA, etc.) for HR, subpoenas and insurance matters, workers compensation and general contracts.
    3. Reviews and revises corporate documents and Hospital policies and procedures as necessary.
    4. Assists with ensuring the organization in maintaining compliance with all employment laws, regulatory and accreditation requirements.
    5. Other Duties as required.

    Preferred Experience: • Managing contracts, Medicaid, HIPPA and Managed Care highly preferred.

    Technical Experience

    1. In house experience is a plus.
    2. Experience representing hospitals or health systems is desired.
    3. Understanding of the major Federal and state laws regarding employment law, workers compensation and general litigation.
    4. Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
    5. Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
    6. Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required.

    Education and Experience

    1. Education: Juris Doctor Degree is required.
    2. Certification: License to practice law is required; license to practice in the State of Ohio is preferred.
    3. Healthcare and or employment law experience in a law firm is required.
    4. Years of relevant experience: 10 years is required.
    5. Years of experience supervising: None
