Assistant Innkeeper / Guest Services

The Assistant Innkeeper / Guest Services plays a key leadership role in the daily operation of the inn. This is a hands-on position responsible for maintaining guest rooms, public spaces, and laundry operations to the highest standards while also supporting the front desk and overall guest experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, dependable, and comfortable leading by example in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise housekeeping and laundry staff
• Inspect guest rooms and public areas to ensure cleanliness and presentation standards are met
• Assist with scheduling, training, coaching, and motivating team members
• Help manage labor, supplies, linen, and housekeeping inventory
• Respond to guest requests, concerns, and special needs in a professional and timely manner
• Assist with guest check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and phone inquiries as needed
• Track lost and found items and maintain organized records
• Assist with opening and closing procedures throughout the season
• Ensure safe use and proper maintenance of cleaning equipment and supplies
• Support other departments as needed to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Qualifications

• Prior housekeeping leadership or hotel experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Positive attitude with a hands-on, team-first approach
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment
• Ability to communicate clearly with guests and staff
• Dependable, flexible, and willing to work weekends and holidays as needed
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and remain active throughout the shift

Physical Requirements

• Frequent walking, bending, lifting, reaching, stair climbing, and repetitive motion
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
• Ability to move furniture, supplies, and equipment as needed
