The Assistant Director partners closely with the Institute Director and/or Regional Director to lead, coach, and manage a multi-departmental team dedicated to attracting students and guests, delivering exceptional Aveda education, and providing outstanding guest services.
This role plays a critical part in creating first-choice professionals for the beauty industry while achieving key performance indicators and maintaining the high standards associated with the Aveda brand.
The Assistant Director also has full responsibility for implementing and overseeing the Student Care Program, providing guidance and support to students while maintaining a positive, inclusive, and high-performing learning environment.
The Assistant Director is responsible for coaching and managing positions that report to the Institute Director when the Director is not present.

The Assistant Director will regularly be required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear, and smell. The position may occasionally require sitting.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
This position is performed across a variety of professional environments, including an Institute campus, salon, spa, and other related service environments. The role may also require occasional driving in the employee's personal vehicle.
