Assistant Kitchen Manager

The AKM at Wyld Child supports the KM in the operations of the back of the house: financial, personnel, guest service, food quality, safety, and leadership development. In order to be successful in these responsibilities, the AKM must love the restaurant business, exude the core values, and lead with heart and humor.

Must be willing to work AM and PM hours.

Requirements:

LOVE for the restaurant industry

Assist Kitchen Key Employees, Kitchen Manager, and General Manager to achieve their goals

Support the General Manager in all aspects of restaurant and retail operations

Lead the kitchen team to culinary and financial success

Identify & develop future leaders

Partnership with Office Manager and General Manager in maintaining back of house staffing levels through: Job Postings & Recruitment, New Hires, Orientation, and Performance Evaluations

Develop and maintain a fun and professional work environment

Develop and maintain standards food quality, visual and taste standards

Develop and maintain educational programs for kitchen staff

Hold regular kitchen leadership meetings

Manage financials and budgets of the restaurant: Labor Cost, Food Costs, Expenses

Be a presence throughout the kitchen

Maintaining an upbeat kitchen energy

Quickly and professionally respond to all employee inquiries

Support Front of House Leadership & Team

Oversee and maintain safety and sanitation standards including health inspection high scores

Literacy in computers and basic math

Strong skills of observation

Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Great oral and written communication

Exceptional follow-through skills

Ability to constantly move throughout the kitchen

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Ability to prepare food according to specifications

Ability to maintain standards in food and beverage quality

Ability to safely utilize a variety of kitchen tools and machinery
