Enriching the library experience for our customers by providing customer service that connects library customers to information, resources and services. The library paraprofessional works to engage the customer individually or in groups for library programming. Delivers information services (reference and readers advisory) to customers, using reference research technology and teaches information literacy.
Salary will be determined depending on qualifications of candidates who exceed the minimum requirements as outlined within the job description. Additional compensation based on licensure.

Completion of Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years library experience is required. A comparable amount of education, training, or experience may be substituted for the minimum qualification
Knowledge of principles and practices of library science; library system organization; methods and techniques.
Knowledge of literature and reading trends.
Knowledge of an online, integrated library operating system, including knowledge of circulation functions, public catalog, and research functions.
Proficiency with a PC and software at the level necessary to successfully complete the tasks of the job is required. Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is required.
Knowledge of reference services, virtual reference services and databases.
Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
All employees must attend Seminole County Required Trainings.
Department Specific trainings per position may be required.
Ability to communicate library mission, services, and resources to the public; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
