This person can expect to be busy working with the public and library staff providing a welcoming, helpful, and safe environment. This position works at the front desk, usually with a work partner, and monitors the library during shifts. Much of the time on the desk is spent using computers to search for materials or information using our database system, the library catalog, or other electronic resources as well as referring to senior staff.

The Juneau Public Libraries are dedicated to serving our patrons in Juneau and those around the state. We use discretion and tact when interacting with patrons and hold patron confidentiality as one of the most important elements in the public service we provide.

In this position you will receive a competitive salary package that includes the opportunity for regular pay increases, 13 paid holidays a year, an excellent health insurance program that includes medical, dental, vision and orthodontia care options, paid leave and retirement credit through PERS (Public Employees' Retirement System).
