    Description

    About Our Client

We have partnered with a premier healthcare provider in California dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and cutting-edge diagnostics. They are seeking a dynamic, hands-on leader to step into the role of Imaging Services Assistant Manager. This is an incredible opportunity for a senior technologist looking to step into leadership, or an experienced supervisor ready to make a significant impact in a collaborative, patient-centric environment.

    Position Overview

As the Assistant Manager, you will work side-by-side with the Imaging Services Manager to oversee day-to-day clinical and administrative operations. This is a "working manager" role where you will split your time between supervising staff and directly participating in imaging procedures (dependent on your specific licensure).

You will help lead a talented team across multiple modalities—including Diagnostic Radiography, Fluoroscopy, DEXA, Mammography, Ultrasound, and CT—while ensuring the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and patient satisfaction.

    Key Responsibilities

    Departmental Leadership & Staff Supervision

    • Coordinate day-to-day imaging services to ensure efficient, safe, and accurate workflows.
    • Supervise, mentor, and schedule technologists and ancillary staff; manage daily staffing levels to optimize productivity.
    • Assist with hiring, onboarding, clinical training, and annual performance evaluations.
    • Act as a bridge between frontline staff and executive leadership to maintain accountability and a positive team culture.

Clinical Oversight & Technical Duties (Working Manager)

    • Perform clinical imaging procedures within your scope of license to support the team during peak hours or staffing shortages.
    • Oversee equipment maintenance and ensure all machinery complies with ACR and manufacturer standards.
    • Lead quality control programs, including image quality reviews and documentation audits (e.g., EQUIP for mammography).

    Regulatory & Quality Compliance

    • Maintain departmental readiness for all state and federal audits/inspections.
    • Ensure strict adherence to regulatory and accrediting agency guidelines (MQSA, ACR, CDPH, FDA, RHB, CMS).
    • Oversee documentation related to radiation safety, HIPAA, and infection control.

    Position Requirements

    Education & Certifications (Required):

    • Education: Associate's degree from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
    • Licensure: Current California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) License.
    • Certification: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification.
    • Life Safety: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.

    Experience & Skills:

    • Proven leadership capability with the ability to coach, mentor, and lead peers effectively.
    • Technical proficiency in PACS, RIS, and EMR systems.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple quality assurance and regulatory priorities simultaneously.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with a commitment to "white-glove" patient service.

    Preferred Qualifications (Highly Desirable):

    • California Mammography Certification.
    • Direct experience with EQUIP documentation and MQSA audits.
    • Familiarity with Breast Care Coordination software.

    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

    • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and safely lift/move patients or heavy imaging equipment as needed.
    • Potential exposure to ionizing radiation (with strict adherence to provided safety protocols and dosimetry monitoring).
    • Flexibility to work occasional weekends or holidays based on departmental and patient needs.
