Job Title: Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily retail operations, delivering excellent customer service, and ensuring the store meets sales goals. This role is key in managing staff, maintaining inventory, and creating a positive shopping experience for families purchasing school uniforms.


Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

  • Assist in daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures
  • Ensure the store is clean, organized, and visually appealing
  • Monitor and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Handle cash management, POS systems, and daily sales reporting

Customer Service

  • Provide exceptional customer service to students, parents, and school representatives
  • Resolve customer concerns and escalate issues when necessary
  • Assist customers with sizing, product selection, and uniform requirements

Sales & Performance

  • Support the achievement of sales targets and KPIs
  • Promote upselling and cross-selling of accessories and additional items
  • Monitor sales trends and suggest improvements

Staff Supervision

  • Supervise and support sales associates during shifts
  • Assist with training new employees on store procedures and customer service standards
  • Help create staff schedules and manage shift coverage

Inventory Management

  • Assist with inventory control, including receiving shipments and stock replenishment
  • Conduct regular stock counts and report discrepancies
  • Ensure accurate product labeling and organization

School Partnerships

  • Maintain knowledge of partner school uniform requirements
  • Assist in coordinating back-to-school events and peak season operations

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's preferred)
  • 1–3 years of retail experience, preferably in apparel or uniform sales
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic math and computer skills (POS systems, inventory software)
