Job Description

About Us

Pour Decisions Craft is a fast-growing craft coffee and craft beer concept — 5 locations in 3 years and still expanding. We're known for exceptional beverages, bold flavors, and a community-first culture. We're hiring Assistant Managers now because our growth has outpaced our leadership bench, and we need strong operators ready to run stores like owners.

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager reports directly to the Supervisor. You partner with the Supervisor on everything it takes to run a profitable, high-energy café: people, product, and numbers. You own shifts end-to-end, make real decisions on staffing and the guest experience, and step in as acting Supervisor whenever the Supervisor is out. This is a career-track role — our Assistant Managers are our future Supervisors and General Managers.

Responsibilities

  • Run the store as manager-on-duty: own the floor, the team, and the guest experience start to finish
  • Build weekly schedules and manage labor cost targets
  • Lead hiring: screen, interview, and make hiring recommendations
  • Own training end-to-end: onboarding new Pouristas, certifying skills, and driving ongoing development
  • Coach performance day-to-day, including delivering feedback and documenting issues up to and including write-ups
  • Own inventory management: ordering, receiving, vendor relations, stock levels, and waste reduction
  • Manage food and beverage cost targets; track waste and comps
  • Handle cash: safe counts, deposits, and cash-handling compliance
  • Resolve escalated customer issues with authority, including comps and recovery decisions within guidelines
  • Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards — own the health inspection readiness
  • Open and close the store with full keyholder accountability
  • Support community events, catering, and local marketing initiatives
  • Act as Supervisor whenever the Supervisor is absent

Qualifications

  • 2+ years in a café, coffee shop, fast casual, or similar high-volume environment
  • 1+ year of supervisory or leadership experience (Shift Lead or equivalent) — required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage labor, food cost, or inventory numbers
  • Strong hiring, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills
  • Excellent communication skills; leads by example on the floor
  • Comfortable with POS systems, scheduling tools, and basic spreadsheets/reporting
  • Flexible schedule availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Must have Food Handler Certificate
  • Must have Responsible Beverage Training Certificate

What We Offer

  • Competitive pay, plus monthly performance bonuses tied to store results
  • Tips
  • Clear promotion path to Supervisor and beyond — we promote from within
  • Leadership development and training investment
  • Positive, inclusive, high-energy work culture
  • Employee discounts on craft coffee, food, and merch
  • Paid training
