Position Overview:

The Assistant Manager supports the General Manager with the daily operation of the Jersey Mike’s restaurant. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for leading, training, and developing team members while providing excellent customer service and maintaining food quality and cleanliness standards. The Assistant Manager assists with shift operations, food preparation, inventory, product quality, opening and closing procedures, and cash handling. The role also helps achieve sales and operational goals while creating a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.

 

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the General Manager with daily restaurant operations.
• Lead, supervise, and motivate team members during assigned shifts.
• Train and coach employees on customer service, food preparation, and company standards.
• Ensure excellent customer service and resolve customer concerns professionally.
• Maintain food quality, safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures and cash-handling responsibilities.
• Monitor product quality, inventory, and proper food preparation.
• Help manage staffing, scheduling, and shift coverage.
• Support store sales and operational goals.
• Enforce company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Maintain a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.

Requirements:

• At least 1 year of experience in a restaurant leadership role required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment.
• Food preparation and food safety knowledge.
• Cash handling and POS experience.
• Dependable, organized, and able to make sound decisions.
• Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Additional education or management training is a plus.

Pay Range: USD $18.00 - USD $20.00 /Hr.
