Job Summary and Qualifications Benefits As the Assistant Manager for Virtual Patient Logistic Centers (VPLC), this position will be the point of contact for overseeing critical functions and operations such as (but not limited to) the Transfer Center Float Pool, Centralized Discharge Transport (CDT), and Behavioral Health Assessment Specialist (AS) teams. The primary responsibility is to ensure seamless coordination and communication in day-to-day operations andsupport for all members of these teams. This position will work directly with the Virtual Patient Logistic Center leadership team to support, operationalize services, optimize workflows and collaborate closely with regional Patient Logistic Centers to deliver timely, efficient, and effective care.Wat you will do in this role:In coordination with direct supervisors, provide leadership, management, and administration of all aspects of departments in order to ensure organizational mission and objectives are metFunction as both an Assistant Manager and assist in work ques when needed and as clinical licensure allowsImplement and manage processes that will enhance access to HCA facilities, services, physicians, and health care ProfessionalsIn coordination with direct supervisors, help with hiring and maintain appropriate staffing levels, utilization of personnel, and ensure the highest quality of professional skillProvide a structured means for policy and procedure development through regularly scheduled staff meetings allowing for continual evaluation, review, and update of standards, functions, goals, and objectivesAttend HCA Corporate Patient Logistic Center meetings and trainingPromote HCA culture of excellence and quality service through teamwork, respectful communication, maintenance of a professional environment, partnership with those we serve, and anticipation of patient and customer needsConsult, in coordination with direct supervisors, with HCA Corporate and Division legal advisors on the interpretation and enforcement of the Inspector's General Safe Harbor Regulations, EMTALA, Stark Laws, and any other points of law that are pertinent to department activitiesIn conjunction with the VPLC direct supervisors: collect, correlate, analyze, and interpret operational, financial, and statistical data, to support staffing heat map and matrix.Demonstrate responsibility for the containment of costs through appropriate ordering of supplies, recovery of service charges, and conservation of suppliesRespond promptly to changes in workload, adjusting assignments as necessary to achieve optimal productivity and efficiency in day to day operationsImplement standards of performance, support direct supervisors in providing feedback, observed and/or measured, to support annual performance evaluation, and initiate or make recommendations for HR actionsProvide leadership development to all staff for effective problem identification and resolution, and for efficient day-to-day operationsSupport Human Resource practices such as, but not limited to: Kronos timecard editing, schedule and staffing, Quality Assurance audits, etc.Customer service focused towards end users and staff within departmentsWhat requirements you will need:Bachelor's degree required2 years' experience as a supervisor and/or supervisory experience within healthcare-related field preferredOne of the following clinical certifications required:Registered NurseEMTParamedicLicensed Professional Counselor (LPC)Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW)Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)Knowledge of the principles and practices of hospital and clinical operations and/or healthcare managementParticipative management style and an ability to work in a matrixed environmentExcellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people, including but not limited to: Corporate/Division leadership, Patient Logistics Center leadership, staff from information technology and clinical backgrounds, physicians, and external vendorsObtain knowledge of state and national rules and regulations, including EMTALAMust be independent, driven, self-motivated, and passionate with an exceptional work ethic, executive presence, integrity and presentation skills, both oral and writtenKnowledge of productivity, financial operations and reporting systemsProficient in Microsoft Office applications, Internet searches, and relevant databasesAbility to establish and maintain long-term customer relationships, building trust and respect by consistently meeting and exceeding expectationsAbility to work effectively with other employees and external parties HCA Healthcare offers a total rewards package that supports the health, life, career and retirement of our colleagues.
