Assistant Manager of Weights & Measures

Remote (CST/EST Preferred)
$32-$36/hour

About Us

The Heartland Roadshow, established in 2009, is a premier buyer of estate jewelry, precious metals, gold and silver coins, and collectibles. If you’ve ever seen “Antiques Roadshow”, this is similar to what we do. We set up boutique “buying events” at various hotel locations throughout the region, where folks come to sell us their estate items — primarily gold, silver, coins, and watches.

Overview

The Assistant Manager of Weights & Measures Compliance oversees daily weights and measures operations and supports the Compliance team through coordination, quality control, issue resolution, and regulatory oversight. This role ensures all scales, certifications, inspections, and related compliance activities are completed accurately and on time across multiple jurisdictions.

This position is ideal for someone who has worked in fast-paced, highly regulated environments and can balance compliance deadlines, operational coordination, and team support while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and accountability.

  • Review certifications, documentation, and inspection records for accuracy and compliance

  • Support team members with escalated or complex inspection and compliance issues

  • Serve as the first point of escalation before issues are elevated to management

  • Track inspection deadlines, renewals, expirations, and unresolved issues across jurisdictions

  • Maintain and improve compliance processes, tracking systems, and operational standards

  • Identify risks that could impact a show’s ability to operate and proactively drive resolution

  • Ensure accurate recordkeeping and organization of certifications and regulatory documentation

  • Support onboarding and training of new team members as the department grows

  • Coordinate with Licensing and other Compliance teams as needed

  • Identify process gaps and recommend scalable operational improvements

  • Ensure accountability, follow-through, and consistency across the team

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Weights & Measures regulations, inspections, and compliance processes

  • Minimum 3+ years of leadership experience (team lead, supervisor, or assistant manager level)

  • Strong experience using Excel, Google Sheets, Salesforce, Monday.com, and other tracking or workflow management systems

  • Strong research and regulatory interpretation skills

  • Excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-through

  • Strong communication skills when working with agencies, inspectors, hotels, and field teams

  • Ability to problem-solve under time pressure and manage competing priorities

  • Detail-oriented with a strong quality-control mindset

  • Demonstrated ownership of work from start to finish

  • Comfortable managing multiple inspections and compliance requirements across many locations
