This position is eligible for telework which is currently one day per week. New hires are eligible to apply 30 days after their effective date of hire.

Job Summary:
This position will supervise the activities of the staff physicians across the MTA HQs in conjunction with the NYCT, MTA Bus, LIRR, and MNR Deputy Medical Directors. This position will have direct responsibility for the MTA physical therapists at the medical assessment center. This position will also perform medical evaluations which include pre-placement, periodic, medical surveillance, fitness for duty, and return to duty examinations and render appropriate work status decisions. The incumbent will need to be a certified medical review officer, within 3 months of hire, who will review drug test results in compliance with DOT regulations and agency policies. In conjunction with the Director, Medical Assessment Center, and MTA agency liaisons, will ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations and agency policies and standards. This position will provide testimony as the occupational health services expert in court cases and arbitrations. This position will provide legal review and decision-making of policy and procedures.
