Description
Job Summary
Arcosa Aggregates is seeking an Assistant Mine Manager based out of our Bound Brook Quarry for our East Region. In this role you will support positive safety culture in an aggregate environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards. As an Assistant Plant Manager, you will be assisting the Plant Manager with the daily operation of the pit, plant, and sales yard.
Day to Day
Actively promote safety awareness and continuous improvement through positive recognition in alignment with the ARC100 program.
Comply with all MSHA and industry safety rules, procedures and applicable government regulations.
Facilitate bi-weekly Arcosa Safety Briefings encouraging all employees to participate in the discussion and improvement of safety on the site.
Manage the daily collection and processing of all safety inspection documentation. Assign any required repairs to be completed in a timely manner.
Manage the work order process for all repairs on site. This includes working with the operators and plant personnel to identify problems, documenting the repair needed, order required parts to complete the repair, schedule and manage the repair, and complete the work order process by closing the work order and completing all electronic tracking requirements.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of new employees
Manage safety documentation participation and verification
Assist with management of customer truck traffic and safety
Maintain strong communications with other plant employees and operators
Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to employees
Assist with performance evaluations and corrective actions when necessary
Manage the daily entry of production results in the KPI tracker and lead continuous improvement activities to improve plant performance.
Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned
About You
Prompt, regular, and predictable attendance

Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to lead, manage, and motivate employees
Excellent time management skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
High school diploma or GED equivalent required - associates degree in a related field preferred
Management, engineering, or related field preferred.
Proficiency with MS Outlook, MS Word, and MS Excel
Ability to work extended shifts (including weekends), as needed to meet production goals.
Working Conditions
The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders, and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
The ability to work in varied outdoor environments (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
Role is on-site with limited to no flexible off-site work opportunities
Compensation
$96,831- $125,769 annually
