Job Overview
We are seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager, Labor & Delivery to join a 16-bed Labor & Delivery unit in Clovis, California. This role is ideal for an experienced L&D nurse who is ready to build on their bedside expertise and step into a leadership role supporting patient care, staff development, quality, safety, and daily unit operations.
The unit offers a modern, family-centered environment with private rooms, a supportive leadership team, and a close-knit culture focused on excellent care for mothers, babies, and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily operations within the Labor & Delivery unit.
- Coordinate patient care and help ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
- Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to nursing staff.
- Help foster a positive, collaborative, and professional team culture.
- Support quality, safety, and performance improvement initiatives.
- Partner with nursing leadership to maintain strong department standards.
- Serve as a reassuring clinical leader for patients, families, and staff.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active California Registered Nurse license.
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
- Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and patient care skills.
Preferred:
- Graduate of an approved nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
- Prior charge nurse, lead nurse, or nursing leadership experience.
