A nonprofit services organization in New York City is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Brooklyn as their new Assistant Nurse Manager - Community Health. This role combines hands-on patient care with nursing leadership in a fast-paced clinic serving a diverse adult population.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (with Saturdays and rotational evenings)
- Hours: 9am to 5pm (9am to 2pm on Saturdays)
- Setting: Outpatient Community Health
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily nursing operations, clinic flow, and patient care coordination
- Provide direct patient care, including vitals, assessments, medication administration, and triage support
- Supervise and support nursing and medical assistant staff through training, feedback, and performance evaluation
- Ensure compliance with clinical, safety, infection control, and confidentiality standards
- Coordinate patient education, follow-up care, referrals, and continuity of care
- Document patient care and medication activity accurately in the electronic medical record
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Active NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS certification
- Experience in a Community Health setting
- Experience providing direct patient care, including Triage, Medication Administration, and Clinical Support
Desired Skills:
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Experience in an FQHC or similar Community Health environment
- Solid understanding of the needs of patients receiving care for HIV/AIDS and Substance Use concerns
