An outpatient health services organization is seeking an experienced, licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team in Queens as an Assistant Nurse Manager. In this role, the Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) will be responsible for supporting clinical operations and patient care in a fast-paced group home setting.
About the Opportunity:
Shift: Day shift
Schedule: Monday-Friday, with Saturdays and rotational evenings
Hours: 9:00 AM-5:00 PM, with Saturdays 9:00 AM-2:00 PM
Setting: Onsite, group home
Responsibilities:
- Support daily clinical flow, health center operations, and patient care coordination
- Provide hands-on nursing care, including vitals, blood pressure monitoring, medication administration, and emergency support
- Supervise and support nursing and medical assistant staff through training, coaching, and performance evaluation
- Coordinate patient care activities such as triage, assessments, follow-up, referrals, and medication reconciliation
- Ensure compliance with clinical, safety, infection control, documentation, and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license
- Current BLS certification
- Experience managing nurses and medical assistants
- Experience conducting one-on-one meetings, training staff, and addressing performance concerns
- Experience working in a group home or similar community-based care setting
- Ability to provide both direct patient care and administrative leadership
- Experience with nursing care, patient assessment, care coordination, and compliance-related practices
Desired Skills:
- Basic Microsoft computer proficiency
- Experience serving medically underserved populations
- Experience supporting patients with HIV/AIDS, substance use, behavioral health, or LGBTQ+ health needs Experience in an FQHC or community health setting Familiarity with electronic medical records
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
