Responsibilities


Leads and promotes the provision of quality patient care for the assigned clinical service.


Participates in staff selection and development.


Assists with compliance with Hospital, as well as with Joint Commission and other licensing and regulatory standards.


Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift.


Assigns patients to available nursing staff, taking into consideration the patient's condition and the employee's skill level.


Assesses, monitors, and educates the nursing staff on patient care. Institutes emergency procedures as necessary.


Anticipates staffing needs and moves proactively to respond to them.


Oversees stocking of supplies and updating patient records to ensure that the nursing floor is ready for subsequent shifts.


Qualifications


Education and Experience:


+ Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN).

+ BSN preferred.

+ Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience as a registered nurse.

+ Preferred experience would be cath lab, critical care.

+ Demonstrated leadership skills.


Licensure:


+ Currently licensed by the State of California as an RN.

+ Basic Life Support (BLS)

+ ACLS certification within 90 days.
