Assistant Operator - 12 Hour Days

Job Title: Extrusion Assistant OperatorSchedule: Monday-Thursday from 6:45 AM-6:45 PMLocation: Sussex, WI

General Scope of JobThe Extruder Assistant is responsible for assisting with the operation of the extruding blown film lines to ensure efficient production of high-quality film. Maintaining materials for extruders and properly handling all inventories. Independently be able to operate one extrusion line.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists Operator in the operation of blown film extrudersAssists in the set-up of production runs and roll changesPerforms quality checks visually and by using various measurement tools to ensure overall quality per product requirementsMaintains materials for the extrudersCompletes production reporting accuratelyAccurately labels completed rolls and other inventoriesOperates and maintains forklift and material handling equipment safelyExercises good manufacturing practices when using or handling inventoriesOperates core cutting machine and palletizing equipmentMaintains an organized, clean, and safe departmentNotifies Lead or Manager of machine/material related problemsAcquires knowledge and skills of Extruder Operator positionTakes direction well and communicates effectively with others to ensure an efficient and positive work environmentAttends meetings and safety trainings, as requiredAdheres to all company safety rules and guidelinesIs aware of the company quality policy and understands how the job relates to itPerforms other job-related duties as assigned subject to reasonable accommodationsAbility to utilize basic Microsoft platforms

Education and/or ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalent preferredOne year experience in a technically oriented position desiredCompetencies
