The Assistant Operator - Paper Bag Machine plays a crucial role in the efficient and safe operation of paper bag manufacturing equipment. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to quality control. The Assistant Operator should have a solid understanding of machine operation, production processes, and packaging and labeling procedures, working collaboratively within a team to meet production targets.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the setup and operation of paper bag machines, ensuring optimal performance.
Monitor the production line, identifying and addressing any operational issues.
Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting, utilizing hand tools as needed.
Conduct quality control checks throughout the production process, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices.
Assist with packaging and labeling of finished products, maintaining accurate records.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, practicing proper housekeeping procedures.
Collaborate with the team to meet production goals and deadlines, demonstrating effective teamwork.
Utilize forklift truck for material handling and warehousing tasks, as required.
Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding production status and any issues.
Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to machine operation and material handling.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of machine operation principles.
General knowledge of production processes and quality control procedures.
Ability to read and understand English language instructions and safety guidelines.
Basic mathematics skills for calculations related to production and measurements.
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to use hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Experience with packaging and labeling procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, specifically within a paper bag production setting.
Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Experience with forklift truck operation.
Basic computer literacy for data entry and record-keeping.
