The Department of Economics and Finance at the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Finance at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor. We seek collegial and engaged scholars who will contribute to the department's mission through excellence in research, teaching, and service. The anticipated start date is August 2027.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to scholarly research, with an established or emerging research agenda in any area of finance. The candidate should also possess the ability to deliver high-quality, engaging instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Teaching responsibilities may include courses in the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Finance concentration), Master of Business Administration (MBA), International MBA (IMBA), and Master of Science in Finance (MSF) programs.
UNCW's Master of Science in Finance curriculum is closely aligned with the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program. Accordingly, candidates who hold the CFA charter or are actively progressing toward the credential are especially encouraged to apply
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Ph.D. in Finance, Real Estate, or related field from an AACSB-accredited school. NOTE: ABDs with an expected conferral date before August 1, 2027, are encouraged to apply.

The Department of Economics and Finance at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, located in the vibrant coastal city of Wilmington, North Carolina, offers four Bachelor of Science in Business Administration concentrations: Economics, Finance, Financial Technology (FinTech), and Real Estate. The department also administers the Bachelor of Arts in Economics and the Master of Science in Finance programs. In addition, faculty play an integral role in supporting both the Master of Business Administration (MBA) and the International MBA, a joint program offered in collaboration with our international partner universities.
The department fosters an engaging and experiential learning environment through student organizations, competitive academic opportunities such as the College Fed Challenge and CFA Institute Research Challenge, the student-managed investment fund, undergraduate honors research, and other high-impact learning experiences.
