The Goddard School located in 1700 Montgomery St Suite 100 San Francisco, CA 94111 is looking for a motivated self-starter for an Assistant director’s position. A bachelor’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool is required. Must be aware of CA licensing requirements. A candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, and have a good understanding of age-appropriate activities for young children.

The Assistant Director responsibilities include:
- Overseeing preschool operations including human resources, quality assurance, staff scheduling and facility operations
- Developing strong relationships with our families
- Complying with state childcare licensing regulations
- Projecting a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrating highly effective organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
- Having a genuine love for children and a strong commitment to education
- Will be in classroom including Infants to preschool classroom to cover for other team members or ratio requirements.

Qualifications:
- BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education or related field including 18 semester hours of completed coursework, including 12 hours of completed coursework related to young children birth to age 8, and management experience in a licensed childcare center or preschool.
- Site Supervisor/Director permit.
- Infant Units.
- Prior assistant director experience in a Preschool Setting
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills

- Commitment to Professional Development
- Proficient in basic computer skills using Microsoft office, Outlook, Canva.
To be considered for the open position you must have:
- Minimum of 12 months working experience in a large center environment.
- ACTIVE and CLEAR DOJ LIVESCAN REQUIRED.
- Mandated Reporter Certification.
- CPR and First Aid Certification.
- A current physical examination by a Physician, including a current tuberculin test.
- Must submit accurate shot record including MMR, T-dap and Influenza.
- An approved criminal record check as required by state regulations.
- Complete California state required health clearance.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
