PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Support the 1st and 2nd Press Operators in running the press efficiently by managing material flow, including offloading printed rolls and assisting with press operations to ensure continuous, high-quality production.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITY:
- Operate and manage the rewind system, with cross-training to support the unwind system for operational flexibility.
- Offload printed rolls and mark rolls where there is a quality defect.
- Ensure adequate supply of cores for continuous splicing
- Manage roll changes and automatic splicing to support uninterrupted production
- Assist with routine maintenance, including cleaning and inspection of gears, bearings, and anilox rolls
- Clean and properly stage anilox rolls after removal from the press.
- Utilize downtime effectively to support setup, housekeeping, and team needs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and food safety standards
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth operations
- Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and identify/report unsafe conditions
- Adapt to process improvements and follow updated procedures to enhance efficiency and safety
- May be asked to help with duties in other areas or departments
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have basic computer skills and possess ability to utilize software. Must have mechanical ability and skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to read and understand documents, letters, etc. and write legibly in English. Must be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.
