To Start: July 15, 2026 Woodland Elementary School in Milford, Massachusetts is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Principal to join its school leadership team. Serving approximately 1,000 students in grades 3 through 5, Woodland is one of the largest elementary schools in the state and a vibrant, diverse community where close to half of our students are English Learners. With its large enrollment, multilingual community, established MTSS structures, and SEI-endorsed teaching staff, Woodland offers an exceptional setting for an equity-focused leader to grow. Led by a collaborative team of a Principal and three Assistant Principals, the school is looking for a leader who sees our students'' linguistic and cultural diversity as a defining strength and is committed to ensuring that every learner is known, supported, and set up to succeed. A significant focus of this role is student management. As part of the administrative team, the Assistant Principal will carry substantial responsibility for maintaining a safe, orderly, and positive school environment, addressing disciplinary concerns with consistency, fairness, and a restorative lens. This includes handling behavioral referrals, monitoring attendance, supervising students throughout the day, and supporting MTSS processes for behavioral and social-emotional needs-working closely with the Principal and support staff to keep these functions responsive, equitable, and well-coordinated across the building. Beyond student management, this position offers meaningful instructional leadership. The Assistant Principal will help support the implementation of new high-quality curriculum-Investigating History and Open Sci Ed-and will directly support teaching staff in bringing these materials to life. This is a role for a leader who can both anchor a strong, supportive school culture and partner with teachers to strengthen teaching and learning for every student. QUALIFICATIONS: Massachusetts DESE Principal/Assistant Principal license, required Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) and/or Bilingual Education Endorsement, required Master's Degree in Education or related field Minimum of five years of successful teaching or leadership experience Strong knowledge of elementary curriculum, instruction, and student development Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Experience implementing High Quality Instructional Materials preferred Experience with the MTSS process Experience leading professional development Bilingual candidates (Spanish and/or Portuguese), preferred Experience with the Special Education Process and programs (Inclusion and Substantially Separate) Equivalent qualifications and experience may be considered at the Superintendent's discretion KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
