POSITION TITLE Assistant Principal SITE: Currituck County High School REPORTS TO: Principal TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Months SALARY: Per NC State Salary Schedule plus local supplement STARTING DATE: Immediate EDUCATION REQUIRED Must hold or be eligible to hold appropriate NC Licensure from the NC Department of Public Instruction Minimum of 3-5 years successful teaching experience Demonstrated effective leadership, public relations, and administrative skills Strong instructional background and knowledge of curriculum Demonstrated effective skills in conflict management resolution Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community at large Commitment to high achievement for all students Positive role model both professionally and personally

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Adheres to ethical standards of the education profession, abiding by laws, policies, and procedures that govern the schools and demonstrates high personal ethical standards both inside and outside the school environment. • Serve as an instructional leader for the school. • Provide support for implementation of the schools vision, mission, and improvement plan. • Analyze and use data for the purpose of improving instruction and organizational processes. • Assist the principal in creating a positive school climate and culture for student learning and mutual respect. • Implement the North Carolina Teacher Evaluation System and hold teachers to high expectations while providing support for the development of teachers as professionals. • Ensure the management and alignment of school personnel, financial, and material resources to ensure safe and efficient operations, discipline, instructional materials, facility management, and assessment finances and transportation utilizing financial, human, and time resources in an efficient and effective manner. • Facilitate the use of parent and community members to positively impact the school instructional program. • Work with internal and external political structures to build social cohesion and to facilitate distributed governance and shared decision making. • Defines and disseminates information about school policies and procedures to parents, students, staff, and community.
