The Hastings Area School System is seeking an outstanding educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal at Hastings High School beginning in the 2026-2027 school year.

Hastings High School serves students in grades 9-12 in a supportive and student-centered environment focused on academic excellence, student growth, and positive school culture. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for student achievement, strong leadership skills, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students, staff, families, and the community.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Michigan Administrator Certificate or ability to obtain certification
  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field required
  • Minimum of three years successful teaching experience preferred
  • Administrative experience preferred
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to support instructional improvement and positive student outcomes
  • Knowledge of MTSS, PBIS, restorative practices, and student discipline procedures preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the principal in the daily operation of Hastings High School
  • Support a safe, positive, and inclusive school culture
  • Assist with student discipline, attendance, and behavioral interventions
  • Support instructional leadership, staff supervision, and professional growth
  • Collaborate with teachers, counselors, families, and community stakeholders
  • Assist with supervision of extracurricular activities and school events
  • Use student data to support academic achievement and school improvement goals
  • Support implementation of district initiatives and board policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal
