Primary Purpose:

Assist the school principal in the overall administration of instructional and organizational leadership for CE King Middle School. Provide administrative support, ensure student discipline, coordinate campus operations, and promote a safe and effective learning environment aligned with the district's mission and campus improvement plan.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field
  • Valid Texas Principal or Mid-Management Certification
  • T-TESS certification preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction at the middle school level
  • Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
  • Ability to manage student behavior and school operations
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities

Experience:

  • Minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience
  • Leadership experience preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Leadership

  • Support the principal in developing and implementing the campus instructional plan
  • Monitor classroom instruction and provide feedback through walkthroughs and evaluations
  • Collaborate with instructional coaches and department heads to analyze data and improve student performance

School Operations and Management

  • Assist in managing campus routines including arrival/dismissal, lunch, hallway supervision, etc.
  • Support scheduling, testing coordination, and substitute coverage
  • Ensure compliance with district policies and procedures
  • Oversee campus safety plans, drills, and emergency procedures
  • Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.
  • Salary is commensurate with experience
  • Starting Salary $76,439

Works 212 Day Calendar

Student Management

  • Assist with student discipline, behavior interventions, and parent conferences
  • Promote positive student culture through PBIS, restorative practices, and student recognition
  • Monitor attendance, truancy, and support interventions for at-risk students

Personnel Management

  • Supervise and evaluate staff as assigned
  • Assist with interviewing, recommending, and onboarding new staff
  • Provide mentoring and support to new and struggling teachers

Community and Parent Engagement

  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
  • Represent the campus at district and community events
  • Work with parent organizations and community partners to support campus initiatives

Other

  • Serve as acting principal in the principal's absence
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the principal or district leadership
