Sonoran Science Academy Phoenix is seeking an experienced and mission-driven Assistant Principal of Students to join its leadership team. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, structured, and respectful learning environment by leading school-wide discipline systems, behavior support, and consistent enforcement of school expectations aligned with Sonoran’s STEM-focused mission and values.
Your Role Will Include:
- Leading and implementing a consistent, school-wide discipline system.
- Maintaining a safe, orderly campus environment through a visible campus presence during key supervision times.
- Investigating behavior incidents and determining appropriate consequences.
- Managing and tracking discipline referrals, documentation, and data.
- Supporting and coaching staff on classroom management and behavior strategies.
- Ensuring consistent implementation of PBIS and school-wide expectations.
- Monitoring behavior trends and providing interventions for students in need.
- Communicating with families and leading behavior-related meetings.
- Responding to student crises and supporting de-escalation efforts.
- Overseeing student safety monitoring systems including GoGuardian and Gaggle.
- Collaborating with school leadership on discipline and school climate initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Educational Leadership or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of school leadership experience preferred.
- Experience in student discipline, student services, or school administration preferred.
- Valid Arizona Department of Education certification required.
- Strong leadership and decision-making skills in student discipline contexts.
- Effective communication with students, staff, and families.
- Ability to de-escalate conflict and manage high-pressure situations professionally.
- High level of organization, consistency, and professionalism.
- Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
Salary and Benefits:
- Pay Range: $92,050 to $100,000 annually based on education and experience.
