SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: Carrollton Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified, student-centered educational leader to serve as Assistant Principal at Carrollton Middle School. Under the direction of the Middle School Principal and Superintendent, the Assistant Principal will assist in providing instructional leadership while organizing, administering, supervising, and evaluating school programs and operations. Primary responsibilities include student discipline utilizing restorative practices, teacher evaluation and instructional support, school improvement initiatives, and assisting the principal in the overall operation of the middle school.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Administer student discipline consistently, fairly, and in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct, Board Policies, and restorative justice practices.
- Develop, implement, and monitor intervention programs designed to reduce chronic absenteeism and improve student attendance.
- Coordinate parent outreach and educational programming related to attendance, behavior, and student success.
- Support and strengthen the school's Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) framework and other behavior support systems.
- Promote a safe, orderly, and respectful learning environment for all students.
- Support teachers in implementing effective classroom management and instructional practices.
- Assist the principal with classroom observations, teacher evaluations, and instructional coaching utilizing the Danielson Framework for Teaching.
- Collaborate with staff to improve student achievement through data-driven decision making.
- Assist with implementation and monitoring of school improvement initiatives, including MiCIP.
- Assist the principal with the daily operation and management of Carrollton Middle School.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district laws, regulations, and policies.
- Supervise school activities, extracurricular events, and evening functions as assigned.
- Develop and facilitate programs that strengthen family engagement and school-community partnerships.
- Lead committees and teams in implementing building-level initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality of all student and personnel information.
- Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and ethical conduct at all times.
- Maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
- Effectively utilize technology, including internet-based research and educational software.
- Exhibit excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
- Be self-directed, flexible, dependable, and capable of working independently.
- Welcome and assist visitors in a courteous, professional, and helpful manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Middle School Principal and/or Superintendent.
- Frequently walk, stand, and move throughout the school building and campus.
- Occasionally lift, move, or assist students and materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Attend and supervise school activities during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Perform duties requiring mobility, flexibility, and the ability to respond to emergency situations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience.
- Master's degree or higher in Education or a related field.
- Valid Michigan School Administrator Certificate or other appropriate administrative certification.
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively as a member of an administrative leadership team.
- Experience working effectively with at-risk students and their families.
- Knowledge of and experience with school improvement planning, including the Michigan Integrated Continuous Improvement Process (MiCIP).
- Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Must satisfactorily complete:

Possess or obtain training/certification in:
Restorative Justice Practices
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
Adult/Child CPR, First Aid, and AED
