A UniFirst Uniforms Assistant Production Manager supports the Production Manager in overseeing daily operations, focusing on leading teams, ensuring safety and quality standards, and driving continuous process improvement. Key responsibilities include team training, facility maintenance, process optimization, and managing production schedules and costs to meet operational and business goals.
Core responsibilities
Leadership and team management: Guide and mentor production teams, conduct performance appraisals, and foster a positive and collaborative environment. Support the Production Manager in hiring, onboarding, and retaining staff.
Operations and efficiency: Assist in developing and implementing production schedules, optimizing processes, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
Quality and safety: Ensure adherence to quality policies and safety regulations, including OSHA guidelines and other corporate policies.
Facility and equipment: Maintain the upkeep and cleanliness of the facility and ensure all equipment is in working order.
Financial oversight: Analyze production costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and use data to make informed decisions.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or GED is required. A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in production management is preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant leadership experience, with a strong focus on team building. Experience in the laundry industry is a plus.
Skills: Leadership, process improvement, and financial literacy are crucial. Proficiency in Microsoft Suite is also required.
Other: Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish are often a strong asset.
