    Description

    What Youll Do

    As an Assistant Production Scheduler, you will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, balancing machine workloads, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and orders throughout the manufacturing process. You will work closely with operations, production leadership, and shipping teams to optimize productivity, meet customer expectations, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prioritize and expedite customer orders to support on-time delivery commitments.
    • Develop and maintain machine schedules that align production capacity with customer demand.
    • Balance workloads across corrugator and converting equipment to maximize efficiency and throughput.
    • Adjust production schedules in response to changing priorities, productivity fluctuations, and operational needs.
    • Collaborate with Area Managers, Production Supervisors, and other departments to support daily manufacturing operations.
    • Monitor production performance and identify opportunities to improve machine utilization, yield, and overall efficiency.
    • Identify and resolve potential bottlenecks within corrugator and converting operations.
    • Serve as a backup for corrugator scheduling functions as needed.

    Review orders with unique requirements and establish appropriate production parameters.

    • Monitor converting performance metrics and recommend process improvements.
    • Coordinate staffing schedules, including overtime, short-hour schedules, and weekend coverage as required.
    • Prepare daily production and operational reports.
    • Partner with Shipping and Operations teams to maximize load efficiency and ensure customer delivery requirements are met.

    Qualifications

    • Strong understanding of corrugator and converting operations, manufacturing workflows, and production scheduling principles.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

    • Comfortable presenting information and communicating effectively in meetings and small group settings.

    Education & Experience

    • High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree in a related field preferred.
    • 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, production scheduling, converting operations, or a related environment preferred.

    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
    • Ability to learn and effectively use manufacturing and scheduling systems.
    • Additional Requirements
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to adapt to changing production priorities and business needs.
    • Experience using standard office equipment and business systems.
