At Thorne, our Assistant Production Supervisors are future leaders. This role is designed for individuals who are ready to take the next step in their manufacturing leadership career by developing the skills needed to successfully lead production teams.

Working alongside experienced Production Leadership, you'll gain hands-on experience managing daily operations, coaching team members, solving operational challenges, and driving continuous improvement within our Encapsulation department. In this role, you'll help lead the operation of equipment that transforms blended formulations into finished capsules, ensuring exceptional product quality, equipment performance, production efficiency, and compliance with cGMP and manufacturing standards. You'll play an active role in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality manufacturing while building the leadership capabilities needed to advance into a Production Supervisor role.


Weekend Schedule-
12 Hour Shifts
  • Week 1: Friday – Sunday
  • Week 2: Thursday – Sunday

RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Partner with Production Leadership to coordinate daily manufacturing activities and ensure production schedules are executed safely, efficiently, and on time.
  • Help manage staffing, equipment, materials, and workflow to support production goals and maximize operational performance. 
  • Monitor production progress, identify issues, and communicate opportunities and risks to leadership.
  • Ensure manufacturing activities comply with cGMP, FDA, OSHA, and Thorne quality standards.
  • Review production records and controlled documentation for accuracy and completeness. 
  • Partner with Quality Assurance and Laboratory teams to resolve quality concerns and maintain product excellence. 
  •  Support the development and continuous improvement of manufacturing procedures and processes. 
  • Help monitor production performance, equipment readiness, and department metrics to improve safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ensure production areas remain inspection-ready and compliant with regulatory requirements. 
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to improve workflow and eliminate production obstacles.
  •  Model safe work practices and ensure employees follow established safety procedures and PPE requirements. 
  • Provide day-to-day guidance and support to Production Leads and Operators.
  • Assist with employee onboarding, training, certification programs, and cross-training initiatives. 
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous learning, and employee engagement.

WHAT YOU NEED


  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  •  Experience in a manufacturing or regulated production environment (FDA, cGMP, ISO, or similar) preferred. 
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating teams is preferred. 
  • Ability to learn multiple manufacturing processes, including Mixing, Encapsulation, Packaging, and Sanitation. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Sound judgment with the ability to balance quality, safety, productivity, and cost while recognizing when to escalate issues. 
  • A passion for learning, continuous improvement, and developing into a people leader.
