Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Cardiology in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of Echocardiography. Applicants must have an M.D. or equivalent degree. Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatric Cardiology is required.



Teaching responsibilities may include didactic lectures to fellows, residents, medical students and nursing staff on topics in general cardiology. Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Cardiology have a large fellowship program with active involvement of trainees within the pediatric echocardiography lab. Excellence in teaching is also required, including curriculum development, innovative teaching materials, and mentoring of junior faculty is also expected.



Clinical responsibilities may include Inpatient and Outpatient coverage of General Cardiology Service, Fetal Echocardiography at Main Hospital and satellite offices in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. This will be a full-time imaging position with opportunities for additional clinical work in areas of outpatient, fetal cardiology or inpatient cardiology care depending on the candidate’s interest and expertise.



Research or scholarship responsibilities may include excellent qualifications in research with established area of research concentration in pediatric echocardiography.



The Pediatric Echocardiography Laboratory at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is one of the largest academic pediatric labs in the country. With strong support of the Cardiac Center and hospital, the echocardiography section includes 30 dedicated Echo faculty covering inpatient and outpatient labs that perform over 40,000 studies per year. The CHOP Echo lab has advanced imaging cores including 3D/modelling, quality improvement, education, and research. There are strong stress echocardiography and contrast echo programs with opportunities for incoming faculty to partner and participate in these areas. Involvement in the robust research, education and quality cores of the CHOP echocardiography lab are strongly encouraged.
