The Finance Department at Carthage College invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Finance position on a multi-year renewable contract, starting Fall 2027. The successful candidate will join the Finance Department to teach undergraduate finance courses that may include Corporate Finance, Money & Banking, Security Analysis & Portfolio Management, and Fixed Income & Derivatives Analysis, depending on departmental needs and the candidate's expertise. The candidate will also play a key role in shaping career-preparation coursework, with the opportunity to design new courses aligned with the CFA and/or CFP curricula, and to help the Department expand its offerings in fintech and AI applications in finance.Minimum Qualifications:Master's degree (or higher) in Finance or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institutionSignificant professional experience in investment, banking, or another area of financial servicesPreferred Qualifications:Ph.D. in Finance or a related fieldEvidence of prior teaching effectiveness in a liberal arts settingExperience with or interest in fintech, financial data analytics, or AI applications in finance, and the ability to help build this area into the curriculumEstablished relationships with employers, alumni, or industry professionals that can support student career outcomesIn addition to teaching, the successful candidate will serve as faculty advisor to the Finance and Investment Club, collaborate with employers, alumni, and career readiness staff to keep the curriculum industry-relevant, and provide service to the college and department through advising and committee work.Interested candidates should submit a single PDF file including a cover letter, curriculum vitae, evidence of past teaching effectiveness, and the names and contact information of three professional references.
