Job Title: Assistant Professor Biological Sciences Human Physiology Department Department of Biological Sciences

Reports to: Chair, Department of Biological Sciences Status: Full-time benefits-eligible Rate: $65,000 to $80,000 Location: Lisle, IL

Position Description: The Department of Biological Sciences at Benedictine University seeks applicants for a nine-month full-time tenure track faculty position in human physiology at the Assistant Professor rank beginning in Fall 2026. The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in human physiology. The selected candidate will also be asked to contribute to the introductory biology sequence.

Dedication to teaching excellence at both the undergraduate and masters levels, undergraduate student research mentoring of masters students, and service to the University are expected.

Department Description: The Department of Biological Sciences houses undergraduate degrees in Biology, Health Science, and Sport & Exercise Science, as well as a Masters degree in Integrative Physiology. The Health Science degree program is the largest undergraduate program at Benedictine University.

Essential Job Responsibilities: Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in on-ground and/or online modalities. Teaching assignments could range across the discipline from the foundational undergraduate-level to upper-level graduate courses. Candidates will demonstrate active engagement in service at the University and in the community. Candidates will also be expected to design a high-quality research program that can actively recruit and engage students.
