The Department of Social Work in the College of Health Professions invites applications for a (nine-month), tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2026.

The successful candidate should demonstrate the capacity for grant writing, project development,

community service, and publications. Two years of university-level is

preferred. ln order to be a leading applicant in this search, in addition to the

aforementioned requirements, be able to communicate well, demonstrate outstanding potential for excellence in teaching through a successful interview and/or classroom demonstration and be experienced in the use of innovative curricular approaches that are student-centered, inquiry-based, and hands-on oriented.

Duties will include but are not limited to: teaching three to four courses per semester at the undergraduate level. Additional responsibilities include holding office hours; advising students; participating in outcomes assessment and other research projects; seeking and securing external funds to support research interests and/or outreach programs and special projects; maintaining accreditation standards; participating in university service and professional service. The successful applicant must be capable of and committed to teaching & community service and outreach, and to scholarship.

Successful applicants will also have experience working with diverse and historically excluded populations. The department also seeks candidates who will contribute to the University's general education curriculum and its emphasis on using high-impact teaching practices, particularly those affiliated with one (or more) of the institution's pedagogical initiatives (e.g., Community-based Learning, Critical Thinking, First Year Seminar, Writing Across Curriculum, etc.). Additionally, the ideal candidate will contribute to the College's support of interdisciplinary programs of study.
