The John and Marcia Price College of Engineering at the University of Utah is hiring a full-time, non-tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CVEEN), focused on Nuclear Engineering. The position is open at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (Lecturer) level and will begin in August 2027.

We are looking for an outstanding educator specializing in nuclear engineering to advance our Nuclear Engineering Program (UNEP) and support our teaching mission. The main responsibility will be teaching a variety of nuclear engineering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels, including topics such as nuclear fundamentals, reactor theory, radiation detection, fuel cycles, and thermal-hydraulics. Key responsibilities include: teaching nuclear engineering courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels; (optionally) teaching core Civil and Environmental Engineering courses; helping update and improve the nuclear engineering curriculum; advising and mentoring students; and participating in departmental, college, and university service, including outreach and workforce development to grow Nuclear Engineering at the University of Utah.

You'll join a forward-thinking department with 22 tenure-track faculty, five dedicated lecturers, and a collaborative teaching and research culture. The Nuclear Engineering Program (UNEP) offers minors, M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, and features a 100 kW NRC-licensed TRIGA reactor along with state-of-the-art training facilities.
