    Job Summary

    The Department of Communication and Media at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, through the College of Literature Science and the Arts (LSA) seeks outstanding tenure-track assistant professors to join our faculty through the 2026-27 LSA Collegiate Fellows Program (LCFP). The LCFP aims to recruit and hire exceptional early-career faculty who have engaged in efforts to increase access and inclusion in higher education through their teaching and mentoring, AND/OR, research and scholarship, AND/OR service and engagement.     The LCFP, launched in 2016, has hired more than 60 outstanding faculty who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, have engaged in efforts to build a broadly diverse and equitable scholarly and learning community. The early-career program offers two pathways in LSA departments: an immediate tenure-track appointment, or a one- to two-year postdoctoral fellowship followed by a tenure-track position. Successful candidates will receive dedicated research time, mentorship, research and travel funding, and cohort- and program-based professional development opportunities related to scholarship and teaching.

    Required Qualifications*

    A PhD by the start of the appointment is required.

    Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
